APC Challenged Security Agencies

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has tasked security, telecommunications services to assist in their fight against fraudsters.
The party accused scammers of defrauding Nigerians by asking them to apply for federal appointments under the incoming administrations.
Lai Mohammed, party’s National Publicity Secretary, released a comment on Tuesday, May 12.
The APC said the call has become required because the scammers have persevered in their deceitful ways, even with latest cautions by the party for them to stop.
It reads: “These ‘419ners’ have a telephone number, 08107400745, an email address (apcscreeningcommittee@gmail.com) and a front (Dr. Favour Idiodie), who is supposedly the Screening Committee Secretary. It should therefore not be difficult for the security agencies, working with the service providers, to fish them out and to make them face the full wrath of the law.”
The party insisted its earlier notice, contained in a statement it published on April 21, 2015, to Nigerians to be careful of such deceitful claims, saying the party has not set up any committee to which Nigerians should submit their CVs for screening and probable federal nominations.
As we wrote in our earlier statement, even when it is obvious that those behind this appointment scam are merely seeking to swindle innocent Nigerians, some desperate and gullible persons may still fall prey to their evil machinations, hence we have decided to once again alert Nigerians,” the APC said.
It said any news regarding appointments into federal posts will be duly communicated to Nigerians at the suitable time through the usual communication channels.
It should be mentioned that alleged scammers have started an ‘employment agency’ in the name of the APC in a bid to swindle Nigerians. The fake agency said the mass recruitment is in contentment of the party’s promise of empowering Nigerians.
