Modric in favour of a strike
Time is what Luka Modric needs, and the footballers' strike could give him just that.
In the case of a strike, the Croat certainly wouldn't down tools in the gym as he works his hardest to recover from a knee strain he suffered on 18th April. Anything that can give him an extra few days to recover suits him just fine, and he's well in favour of any 'industrial' action so he can try to get into the best possible shape for a potential Champions League final.
A few days ago, Carlo Ancelotti was already resigned to not being able to play Luka until the last game of the season. With a great deal of uncertainty surrounding the strike, any extra time he can gain to aid his recovery is a bonus, and he would love to play the second to last game of the season on the same day that the final game is currently scheduled.
This would give a slightly positive twist to the season's end, marred with injuries, that the Croat would rather forget. The first, which he picked up in November, forced him to sit on the sidelines for four months, and he's already been out of action for 20 days with the second. Overall, Modric has missed 28 games through injury.
