PHOTOS: Burning Tankers Block Lagos-Ibadan Expressway
There was an explosion on the notorious Lagos-Ibadan expressway this morning. The explosion, according to Metro Naija, occurred at about 9am when two tankers exploded on impact.
Linda Ikeji meanwhile reports that there is heavy traffic on the road. Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps were at the scene to direct traffic off the major road.
Metro Naija confirmed that no lives were lost but three passengers were badly injured.

Lagos-Ibadan expressway is a notoriously dangerous road due to its high rate of accidents, which are often caused by the poor road surface.
The expressway used to have four lanes but it is now being reconstructed to accommodate six lanes. Construction on the road has been going on for close to five years now.
