Oil Thieves Invade Ijagemo In Lagos State

For several weeks now, oil thieves have continued ‘milk’ at Ijagemo village, a suburb around Iba Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State.
It was revealed that youths, women and some influential community leaders are behind the stealing and loading of fuel into 50-litre jerry cans in the community.

The illegal bunkerers are allegedly armed to the teeth, flaunting their AK 47 rifles unhindered day and night. Reports indicate they shoot sporadically, perhaps to scare security agents.
It was reliably gathered that both the police and the men of the Nigeria Defence Security and Civil Defence Corps (NDSCDC) have compromised. Instead of fighting the Ijagemo oil thieves, they waited for ‘returns’.
A resident within the community said: “You want a job? While not go to oil site? Police have been settled. ‘Alausa’ too, settled.”
