A 44-year old woman, Folashade Akinola and her 20-year old son Tobi Oladunjoye, have been arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrate court for allegedly biting off a neighbour’s ear.
The two were arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and unlawful assault after they were reported to have dismembered the right ear of one Mrs Akintola during a brawl on January 12.
The act was said to have been committed at No. 45 Olota Street, Abule Egba, Ikeja, where they both reside. Police prosecutor, Inspector Uche Simon said the accused persons unlawfully assaulted Akinola by beating her to a pulp and also biting off part of her right ear.
He said that the complainant had heard Oladunjoye’s daughter accusing another tenant of stealing her money.
“Akinola decided to confront Oladunjoye’s daughter on the matter and when she got to their apartment she told the mother what her daughter had done. Both mother and son however, pleaded not guilty to the charges."Simon said.
Senior Magistrate, Mrs Y.R. Pinheiro, who presided over the proceeding subsequently granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N20,000 each with two sureties each in like sum. She also adjourned further hearing in the case till
