Nigeria’s Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Akinwumi Adesina has won the race to be named President of the African Development Bank (AFDB).
It will be recalled that General Muhammadu Buhari, the president-elect of Nigeria asked the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to throw its weight behind the candidacy of Dr.Adesina as the next president of the AfDB.
The result of the elections was released to the public by Minster of Finance, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
The minster hailed Adesina saying he was great and labelling his campaign was strong and great. Okonjo-Iweala made the announcement on her personal twitter handle @NOIweala.
