Motorist Dies While Queuing For Fuel In Ibadan


The fuel scarcity currently ongoing in the country has claimed the life of a commercial driver in Ibadan, Oyo state.

Leadership reports that a commercial driver on Monday evening slumped and died while queuing to buy petrol at the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) mega station along Iwo-Ojo road..
The incident happened around 6.15pm when the driver who plys the Ibadan-Lagos expressway joined other motorists to queue for petrol.
An eye witness, said that the deceased came down from the vehicle to open the tank to be filled when he suddenly slumped and died.
He sadly passed away before any medical help could get to him. The incident threw the filling station into chaos as the people hurriedly left with their vehicles.
A police patrol team from the Kajorepo Police Division which arrived at the scene took the corpse away.
Meanwhile the oil marketers have suspended importation of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), because the Federal Government’s have refused to pay them their claims.
