SEE The Names Of 30 Top Army Officers Set To Face Court Martial Over Boko Haram Fight

Thirty top officers  of the Nigerian army are to face a judicial panel allegedly over the offences committed in the course of the fight against Boko Haram.

Among those listed in the document is Enitan Ransome-Kuti, a Brigadier General and commander of the Multi National Joint Task Force. He was reported to have been arrested in Maiduguri earlier this year over their failure to repel the attack on Baga, Borno state.

It should be recalled that in the recent period the army has ordered numerous proceedings involving the Nigerian soldiers and officers. Some of the tried soldiers were accused of mutiny and sentenced to the capital punishment. The move was followed by negative reactions, with Nigerians begging court to spare their lives. The military authorities were accused of sending the soldiers to fight against Boko Haram without giving them the adequate weapons. The army tops insisted that fleeing and mutiny made the crimes which deserved death sentence.
