Sampson Parker, the immediate past Commissioner for Health in Rivers state has called on Governor Nyesom Wike to stop vindictive actions against the past administration of Rotimi Amaechi.
Rotimi Amaechi has accused Nyesom Wike of witch hunting him |
Parker, according to The Nation, asked Wike to behave in a manner befitting of a serving governor and focus on governance rather than on settling scores.
“Chief Nyesom Nwike is the governor of Rivers state now. I have always said that he is our friend. He is a member of the Amaechi family, so I am very cautious when I talk about my brother.”
Reminding Wike of his status, he said: “Suffice it to say that, I will advise him that he is now governor, that his temperament, his behavior, his utterance should be that of a governor and not that of what he was before he became a governor.”
Parker advised Wike to mind his speech, stating that before he became a governor, he could say anything, but that changed the moment he was sworn in.
He urged the governor to display exemplary conduct for all in the state, saying any word that comes out of his mouth should be evaluated before being uttered.
Governor Wike has taken steps to revers most of the decisions taken by his predecessor including sacking workers employed by the past administration.
He has also instituted a probe against the administration of Amaechi, but the latter has insisted that probe of his (Amaechi) administration is a sham and a fraudulent witch-hunt designed to deceive members of the public.
