These remote control robots, equipped with manipulators, are
capable of demobilizing explosives-laden vehicles or carrying out safe
detonation of bombs.
The sappers control the robot from a safe distance but still need to wear protective suits to avoid being wounded by fragments of detonated improvised explosive devices.

A bomb blast ripped through the popular Maidugiri abattoir market also known as Gamboru Cattle Market in Borno state on June 2, 2015, Tuesday.
The incident which happened around 12.35 pm, may have killed dozens of people as the bomb was reportedly planted in a toilet facility within the abattoir.
Earlier, amidst celebration of a new era, twin explosion has reportedly killed seven people and left dozens injured, at Tashan Alade in Hawul Local Government of Borno State, North-east Nigeria.
