Bomb Scare In Asaba

At about 6:30pm yesterday, Saturday 18 July, 2015, there was a bomb scare in Asaba, Delta state capital.
The Nation reports that a parcel-like object wrapped together with a blue-strip men’s tie was spotted just by the entrance of the country home of a top management staff of the Department of Petroleum Resource (DPR), Mr Anthony Konwea.
The object which was suspected to be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) had some electrical connections. This made some the residents of the area keep away from the strange object until it was detonated.
However, Delta State Police Command spokesman, Celestina Kalu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police has made it known that the object was not an IED, describing it as “just a trash tied in a black polytene bag’.
Just yesterday also, there was  pandemonium in Sokoto state following reports that suspected Boko Haram members were about to set-off a bomb.
