Kano Police Command Goes Tough On ‘Yandaba Thugs’

The Kano State Police Command has reiterated its zero tolerance to the menace of the ‘Yandaba’, terrorizing the people of the state lately.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state command, ASP Magaji Musa Majia sounds the warning at a press briefing in his office.
He lamented that of recent, the Yandaba thugs attack and killed an undergraduate of Kano University of Technology, named Wudil, in the premises of Rumfa College, before proceeding to a nearby mechanic garage where they vandalized vehicles, killing some domestic animals in the course of their evil actions.
He used the occasion to reveal that, the state police commissioner, Ibrahim K. Idris, has ordered the arrest of 2 Ward Heads (Mai Unguwa) who are aiding and abetting the Yandaba in carrying out their nefarious activities, adding that they will soon be charged to court.
The PPRO appealed to the citizens to continue assisting the State Command with vital information that will assist them discharge their duties in flushing the activities of Yandaba in the State.
Recently, Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has visited the state’s central prison where he ordered the release of about 108 inmates serving various jail terms.
