Ministry Of Foreign Affairs Confirms Ambassadors Recall

The reported recall of the Nigerian non-career ambassadors sparked serious controversy. Finally, an official comment has been provided by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The information was initially provided over the weekend by the presidential spokesman Femi Adesina. The move was believed to have been made in order to re-position national foreign policies.
However, yesterday Ogbole Ode, spokesman for the Ministry, said that they had no knowledge of such development and characterized the reports as fake.
Interestingly, on Tuesday, July 14, the Ministry confirmed the recall in an official statement issued by the body’s public communication division.
See the text of the document, as provided by Premium Times:
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to reconfirm the recall of non-career ambassadors, ambassadors extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic on tour of duty abroad.”
It was noted that the move was in line with routine operations in the Ministry.
