NASS Resumption: Police Tighten Security On Assembly Complex

Nigerian police have tightened security on the entrance of the National Assembly complex in anticipation of any breakdown of law and order.
The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in-charge of the National Assembly took over the security.
The move was aimed to observe movement of visitors into the building as both chambers recommenced plenary after about five weeks break caused by the leadership crisis that had threatened the peace and disrupted lawmaking business.
It should be noted that Major-General Babagana Monguno (rtd), the National Security Adviser drove into the complex around 10.05am together with the Speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and the deputy Speaker, Yussuf Lasun.
As at 11.am the House was yet to resume plenary but the surroundings was calm.
The DPO was standing in the rain with some other officers and security agents who screened visitors going into the NASS complex.
It would be recalled that some Nigerian senators on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress involved in a physical fight when an argument between two senators worsened on June 21.
