The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) have finally unveiled Sunday Oliseh as coach of the Super Eagles. The press conference unveiling the new coach was held in the Trans Corp hotel in Abuja.

There were several questions and insinuations at Wednesday’s colourful official presentation ceremony bothering on Oliseh’s perceived ‘stubborness,’ but the former captain swiftly differentiated between being principled and being stubborn.
Oliseh said: “I have come to serve, and the NFF has promised to give me all the support I need to succeed. They are the employers and I am the employee. That distinction has to be appreciated at all times.
“I have had meetings with members of the Technical and Development Committee, led by Chief Anyansi-Agwu, very knowledgeable people all. I have met members of the Executive Committee and the General Secretary. I believe we will all work together excellently. It is a huge honour to the Head Coach of Nigeria.”
Pinnick said: “We have just signed the Pep Guardiola of Africa. And I believe he will succeed. We will do everything humanly possible to ensure Oliseh succeeds. We will give him 100% support.”
Oliseh, meanwhile said: “It’s a great honour to be coach of this great Nation.”
He continued: “I’m not coming as a messiah. I’m coming as a man who wants to serve his country and give 150%. Gone are the days when we had individual players who can win games on their own. But we have potential.”
“No player outside of first division in Nigeria or elsewhere will play for Super Eagles. We will work together with tech committee. Because if we fail, they fail. If you judge Sunday from the past, you’ll be making a big mistake. We have all matured,” he said.
Pinnick added: “Oliseh will be paid 3 months wages in advance. Meaning the next time we will have to pay him is October.”

NFF President Amaju Pinnick presided over the event, supported by Vice Presidents Seyi Akinwunmi and Shehu Dikko, Executive Committee members Anyansi-Agwu, Yusuf Ahmed Fresh, Dilichukwu Onyedinma, Babagana Kalli and Ahmad Kawu, General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi and other members of NFF management, including Technical Director Shaibu Amodu.
