PDP says it sent the petition that landed Toyin Saraki in trouble with the EFCC, while Bola Tinubu and the APC have nothing to do with that.

PDP says it wants Saraki’s wife jailed, APC or Bola Tinubu have nothing to do with her probe by EFCC
The All Progressives Congress and Bola Tinubu didn’t file a petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) which led to the on-going investigation of corruption charges against the wife of the president of the Senate, Toyin Saraki.
The Kwara state chapter of the PDP issued a statement on Sunday, officially confirming that the PDP submitted the petition to the EFCC landing Toyin Saraki in trouble, not the APC or Bola Tinubu.
Shortly after the investigation against Toyin Saraki on charges of public funds embezzlement had started, senators loyal to Bukola Saraki have claimed that the investigation against Saraki’s wife might be politically motivated by the leadership of the ruling APC party.
Joseph Waku, a chieftain of the APC, had also accused on Saturday one of the national APC’s leader Bola Tinubu of masterminding the petition to the EFCC – however Tinubu strongly denied this accusation.
On Sunday the PDP’s spokesperson, Rex Olawoye, voiced a statement to the press, saying that “it has become imperative to inform the members of the public that we have every reasons to believe that a petition recently submitted to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kwara state chapter is largely responsible for the invitation and eventual criminal prosecution of the former Kwara first lady and wife of the Senate president, Toyin Saraki.
It will be recalled that our party had sometime early this year discreetly submitted a petition to the EFCC detailing how certain individuals in high places under the past administration of Bukola Saraki milked the [Kwara] state dry and left the people more impoverished than they met them,” – The PDP representative added.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission wants to question Toyin Saraki, wife of the Senate President and former governor of Kwara state, Bukola Saraki on the issues of alleged money laundering.
Toyin Saraki was invited to explain the strange inflow of funds into companies where she has interest. She is to report to the commission’s headquarters in Abuja on July 28, 2015, where she will have to answer to a special team of investigators assembled to grill her.
Toyin Saraki, the wife of the Senate president, Bukola Saraki, has said she will honour the invitation by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).She has also expressed her readiness to assist the commission with its inquiries over corruption allegations leveled against her.
At the same time senators who are members of the Group called ‘Like Minds’ have said on Thursday that they are curious about the decision of the anti- graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), to invite the wife of the Senate President, Mrs Toyin Saraki, in connection with an unknown investigation. The senators in a statement signed on their behalf by Senator Dino Melaye stated that they hoped that the invitation of Mrs Saraki was not politically motivated or linked with the on-going leadership tussle in the Senate.
Yesterday the former Vice Chairman of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Joseph Waku has accused the National Leader of the party, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu of masterminding the petition to the EFCC to probe the wife of the Senate President, Mrs Toyin Saraki.
