AFCON 2017 Qualifier: Tanzania Coach Fires Eagles Warning

Charles Boniface Mkwassa, the head coach of Tanzania’s national football team, has fired a stern warning to the Super Eagles ahead of September 5 AFCON 2017 qualifier.
Despite his team’s 3-0 opening day defeat to group leader Egypt, Mkwassa has expressed optimism that his boys will upset the Super Eagles when both teams square up next month.
“I am optimistic that the two warm-ups against Libya and Kuwait will give my players the much needed exposure for the Nigeria match,” Mkwasa said.

After the team’s opening day defeat to Egypt, the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) went straight to overhaul the team’s technical bench, whereby Dutch trainer Mart Nooij was replaced with Mkwasa.
While the Super Eagles continue to wait for the arrival of new coach Sunday Oliseh, the Taifa Stars of Tanzania have begun training as coach Mkwassa has selected five foreign based players in his 29-man squad.
Pitted with Nigeria, Egypt and Chad, it surely looked like a mountain to climb for Mkwassa’s men when they tackle the Super Eagles in Dar-Es-Salaam.
Meanwhile, the Tanzanian football federation have released the final squad that will face Nigeria next month.
