Catholic bishop of Sokoto, Mathew Kukah on Thursday, August 27, had a brief meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Aso Villa.

The details of the meeting between the two leaders are still sketchy at the moment but followers of the current political trend in the country noted that it could be connected to the probe of the immediate past administration.

Kukah is a member of the Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar-led National Peace Committee who had earlier paid visit to President Buhari. It is believed Kukah opposes the government’s move to investigate corrupt past government officials.
The cleric who declined to respond to the question from reporters on his mission only said:” I have a plane to catch by 12:30 pm.”
Meanwhile, a group Advanced Progressive Forum have advised President Buhari to ignore calls by some peoples asking him to soft pedal on the fight against official corruption saying that people making such calls are sycophants and interlopers.
