Bakassi People Decry Disenfranchisement By INEC

People of Ikang tribe in Bakassi are accusing the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) of disenfranchising them whenever elections are conducted in Cross River state.
The people under the auspice of Ikang Combined Assembly said that INEC had created dichotomy in dealing with them during elections, saying this has led to short-changing the people.
The Ikang clan made their grievances known when they took their complaints to the Cross River State House of Assembly. The people were received by a lawmaker representing Bakassi constituency, Ekpo Ekpo Bassey on Tuesday, August 25.
Meanwhile, President Muhammmadu Buhari during a state visit to Cameroon on Wednesday, August 29, said as painful as the ceding of the oil-rich peninsula to neigbouring Camerooon, Nigeria will abide with the ruling of International Court of Justice.
