Coach Fumes Over Team's Inability To Score Goals

Coach John Obuh of FC Ifeanyi Ubah has again bemoaned the ineptitude of his players to convert their chances to goals in recent matches.
In a Week 22 rescheduled game played earlier today, the Anambra Warriors, as they are fondly called, were held to a 0-0 draw by visiting Sunshine Stars of Akure at the Rojenny Stadium, Oba, Anambra state.
According to Obuh, his team played well in the match but could not covert their chances.
He said a player like Chibuzor Okonkwo, a former international, disappointed the enthusiastic crowd when he failed to convert a penalty kick to a goal.
“It is unfortunate when you cannot convert your chances; this is where I had expected them to score; when they don’t do that, nervousness sets in.
“We will continue to work hard so that we can begin to score goals,’’ he said.
Obuh said that Okonkwo, who missed the penalty, had appealed to supporters to continue to stand by the club in spite of their shortcomings.
He apologised for the mistake, saying it happens occasionally in football.
Obuh had earlier lamented inability to score in Week 21 after his side 3-0 whitewash at the Warri township stadium against Warri Wolves FC (NAN)
