Former Speaker Moves To Dump APC For PDP

There are strong indications that a former speaker of the Ekiti state House of Assembly and governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Femi Bamisile, may rejoin the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
As part of moves to change camp, Bamisile met with the governor of the state, Ayodele Fayose on Sunday, August 23, at a popular hotel located along Ado-Iworoko road and owned by a prominent trado-medical practitioner, This Day reports.
They were said to have held a closed door meeting for about an hour.
According to report, Fayose, who was dressed in a white ‘Jalamia’ arrived the hotel in a metallic coloured  Kia Optima and went straight to a section of the hotel, where a meeting was speculated to be holding.
In attendance were four prominent traditional rulers, commissioner for the environment, Chief Bisi Kolawole, who was Bamisile’s colleague in the state’s third Assembly and two prominent members of the PDP.
Also present were two notable APC members, which may be interpreted as a move to dump the APC alongside notable members of the party when the deal is finally sealed, Daily Sun reports.
After the meeting, they refused speaking with newsmen and drove off.
This comes barely three days after Bamisile said that the APC won’t rely on the federal government to defeat Governor Fayose in the 2018 governorship poll, adding that the party would go all the way to win the electorate.
Bamisile, who used to be a member of the PDP had defected to APC barely a week to the June 21, 2014 governorship election, following irreconcilable differences with Fayose.
