Gunmen Kill And Dismember Three Travelers In Plateau

Three travelers have been killed and dismembered by a group of unknown gunmen in Plateau state.
A source who pleaded for anonymity said that the travelers left Saminaka in Kaduna state at about 2pm. on August 9, Sunday, in a private vehicle. They were said to be going to Barakin Ladi town in Barakin Ladi local government area of Plateau state. However, they did not reach their destination as they were attacked by gunmen along Heipang and Kassa.
Travelers were reportedly ordered out of the vehicle and were shot at close range. Some parts of their bodies were allegedly removed by the gunmen before they threw the remaining in the bush.
Mallam Nuhu Yakubu, a man who said that the travelers were supposed to be his guests, disclosed that he spoke with the victims shortly before they were killed.
“I was speaking with one of them on phone and they told me they were between Hipang and Kasa. Later, one of them ‘flashed’ my phone and when I called back, Magaji picked the phone but a stranger collected the phone and told me that they would kill them. I asked them why and pleaded with them but they switched off the phone,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Plateau state police command has already launched the investigation of the gruesome crime.
Earlier this week, a soldier attached to the Special Task Force on Jos crisis and five others were also shot dead by unknown gunmen in an attack in Bisich village, Barkin Ladi local government area of Plateau state.
