Another Super Eagles invitee, Joel Obi has been ruled out of action for a week, his club, Torino FC of Italy have announced.
The midfielder has been plagued by injuries throughout his short career. He underwent an MRI scan on Thursday after persisting symptoms of painful flexor muscle of the left thigh.
A statement on Torino’s official website reads: “MRI he underwent Obi showed an overuse the semitendinosus muscle of the left thigh. Recovery times are currently estimated at approximately 5-7 days.”
Joel Obi joins the likes of Heartland football club players, David Obiazo – a goalkeeper, and Reuben Ogbonnaya and Al-Ain striker, Emmanuel Emenike on the growing list of injured stars invited by Sunday Oliseh.
Oliseh is yet to name replacements for the injured stars.
Meanwhile, Oliseh has expressed joy at the progress made by the local Super Eagles stars after they beat an academy team 1-0 in a test game on Thursday.
Gbolahan Salami scored the only goal of the game penalty spot after he was felled.
Oliseh said: “I am pleased with the players because they tried to bring to play some of the things we tried to teach them on Tuesday and Wednesday, like how to possess the ball.”
According to allafricanfootball.com, the called up players will be excused to join their clubs for weekend games on Friday August 21st but will be expected to return on Tuesday August 25th to continue the training camp.

Oliseh will take charge of his first Nigeria game against Tanzania in an AFCON 2017 qualifier match in Dar es Salaam on September 5.
