New GOC Promises To Train Troops With Modern Equipment

The new general officer commanding (GOC) the 82th division of the Nigerian Army in Enugu  has vowed to ensure that troops under his command would henceforth be trained with modern equipment.
According to Leadership, Brigadier General Ibrahim Attahiru promised to focus on this and on creating situation awareness within the division operation area.
The military official made a claim when he spoke at the the GOC’s Conference Room in Enugu.
Attahiru added that the division had enough capacity to fight both on water and land. He further urged the staff to render maximum assistance in the renewed effort within the division to set order in the area.
The outgoing GOC, Major General Shehu Yusuf, thanked the division staff for their work and urged the soldiers and officers to support and cooperate with the his successor.
Yusuf expressed joy that Attahiru had come from 13 Brigade Calabar, where he used to serve himself.
Meanwhile President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, August 13, decorated new services chiefs and given them ultimatum on the Boko Haram insurgency. The country leader urged the new military seniors to map out strategies to defeat terrorism in a three-month period.
