Sadiq Abubakar, the chief of air staff, has announced that a second-level hospital will be established at the largest Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp in Maiduguri, Borno state.

According to Abubakar, the establishment of the hospital is a part of a strategy to tackle the Boko Haram sect in the north east.
Dele Alonge, the director of public relations and information of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), revealed that the air chief also ordered the construction of a borehole to service the hospital and other people within the camp.
Premium Times reports that last week, Babagana Monguno, the national security adviser, accompanied by service chiefs, including Dalori, visited IDP camps in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states. The officials observed that the elderly men, women and children were in dire need of more healthcare and water supply.
Shortly after the visit, the chief of air staff gave the NAF director of medical services the directive to establish a hospital with full complements to enhance the IDP healthcare needs.
Earlier this month, Nigerian Army offered free medical services for the internally displaced persons in Konduga community of Borno state. From August 12 till August 14, 2015 personnel of Nigerian Army Medical Corps was attending to numerous people that turned up for the exercise.
Meanwhile, the federal government of Nigeria announced that some victims of Boko Haram attacks would undergo plastic surgery. Among those whose operation will be sponsored by the government is little girl with a badly burnt face who Vice President Yemi Osinbajo met at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital in Borno state on July 1, 2015.
