The Senegalese-American musician Akon is currently visiting Nigeria and has been hanging out with some of the country’s top financial big-wigs and some entertainers.
Akon visited the chairman of United Bank for Africa and founder of The Tony Elumelu Foundation, Tony Elumelu.
Elumelu took Akon on a boat cruise that included Nollywood actress Omoni Oboli, rapper and producer Jesse Jagz as well as singer and founder of EME record label, Banky W.
Tony Elumelu and Akon had met earlier this month in Abidjan, Cote D’Iviore during the Africa Energy Leaders Group.
The Nollywood actress Omoni Oboli shared some of the pictures from their boat cruise on her Instagram page.
Akon recently launched an academy aimed at training people on energy production. The academy is part of his Akon Lighting Africa initiative. He is in Nigeria to promote his project and apart from Elumelu, also visited the Lagos state governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
The singer plans to use solar energy to hopefully provide 600 million Africans with electricity.
