According to The Nation, they begged Okorocha to “temper justice with mercy” and order for the payment of their May salaries.
Ikenna Obi, a former appointee in a statement said that the initial mistake, which delayed the payment of their salaries had been resolved.
Obi added that their salaries were determined by the Revenue Mobilisation and Fiscal Commission’s (RMAFC) provisions.
He also said: “No appointee could earn higher than what is provided by the regulatory body, except for some senior aides whose statutory hazard allowances where included in their last salaries, which explained the seven million naira difference in the approved salary.”
In a related development, the Imo state governor reportedly clashed with the national leader of APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over one of the ministerial appointments in President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet.
