Mesut Ozil could join former premier league stars Robin Van Persie and Luis Nani at Turkish Super Lig. club Fenerbahce, his agent Erkut Sogut has revealed.
Ozil, who is actually Turkish by heritage has had a mixed spell in England following his £42.5 million move to the club from Real Madrid in 2013.
He has scored 12 goals and provided 25 assists in 78 appearances, however his performances have been scrutinized frequently and his agent says a future move to Turkey is on the cards.
90min.com quotes him telling Tavkim: “At Arsenal, Mesut is very successful in his performances. It’s too early to talk right now. But you cannot know the conditions. Fenerbahce seem serious about Mesut.”
Sogut says negotiations at the end of the season will determine his client’s next move.
He continued: “It is difficult to predict in advance how Arsenal would respond. At the end of the season, we’ll see. However, leaving Arsenal for Fenerbahce could be a serious choice for him.
“They are one of Turkey’s biggest clubs.”
During the summer, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger said this season will be the best of Ozil’s careers at Arsenal. The Manager also revealed that big name signings like Ozil in 2013 and Alexis Sanchez in 2014 were not available during the summer.
