First Lady Patience Jonathan that all her loyalists should support Governor Seriake Dickson in the forthcoming governorship election in Bayelsa state.
Wariponmowei Dudafagh, the former senior special assistant to the immediate past president, Goodluck Jonathan, has dissociated himself fromthe recent directive by the former
According to Sahara Reporters, the purported directive from Mrs. Jonathan has not been confirmed. However, Dudafagh noted that the directive did not include him and he would not change his position that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would fail in the upcoming elections if it fielded Dickson as its flag bearer.
Meanwhile, Gesiye Isowo, the former secretary to the defunct pro-Jonathan’s group, the Transformation Ambassador of Nigeria, and a former Bayelsa Commissioner, issued a statement, in which he denied that Patience Jonathan directed him and many others to support the second-term bid of the incumbent governor.
It would be recalled that Dudafagh was previously expelled from the PDP by the faction of the party loyal to Governor Dickson over alleged anti-party activities. During the State House of Assembly election, he was allegedly one the sponsors of the victory of Abiye Tarabina of the All Progressive Grand Alliance.
As the rift between Bayelsa state governor and the former First Lady has come to an end, they are now expected to be present at the formal declaration of Dickson for December 5, gubernatorial race. Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, the ex-governor of the state, Ijaw leaders and other stalwarts of the PDP from the South-South zone are expected to grace the occasion.
