The former governor of Rivers state, Rotimi Amaechi has landed in Port Harcourt in style following the dismissal of the state governor, Nyesom Wike.
The ministerial nominee arrived at the Nigerian Airforce Base Port-Harcourt in a private jet, with a warm welcome by his wife Judith, the Rivers APC gubernatorial candidate, Dakuku Peterside. They were joined by supporters as they jubilate over the nullification of Nyesom Wike as the governor of the state.

The petition challenging the election of Wike as the Rivers state governor was filed by Dakuku Peterside, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress.
In its petition filed on May 3, Peterside and the APC urged the tribunal to nullify the election in the entire 23 local government areas of the state and order fresh ones on account of alleged substantial non-compliance with electoral law. Peterside and his supporters reacted with jubilation in Abuja, when the news of the tribunal’s ruling broke.
