Nigeria U-23 head coach, Samson Siasia has made some changes to his final squad for the U-23 cup of nations which has been scheduled to take place in Senegal.
Abia Warriors defender, Erhun Obanor was the biggest casualty as the coach axed him from the team, however, he was a skipper of the Dream Team VI last year, and has failed to make the final cut for the U-23 tournament.
He will be replaced by the U-20 central defender, Zaharadeen Bello.
Amongst the players that made the cut is the duo of former Dolphins FC defender Chizoba Amaefule and Heartland FC goalkeeper Emmanuel Iwu.
Siasia has listed only four foreign-based stars for the competition, which kicks off on November 28 in Dakar. Nigeria’s opening match will be against Mali on November 29 in Mbour. The team will also face Algeria, Egypt.
The tournament will also be used as a qualifying parameter for next year’s Olympics which will take place Rio, Brazil.
