Abuja Firm Sues PDP Over Goodluck Jonathan Campaign's N360m Debt

The Peoples Democratic Party has been sued by an Abuja-based firm over heavy debts it incurred during last year's presidential election.
An Abuja-based firm, Twinkle Nigeria Limited, has sued the Peoples Democratic Party and some members of the the party’s 2015 presidential campaign committee for their alleged failure to pay a N360m fee for the job it executed for the party.

The Punch reports that others who were sued along with the party are Senator Ahmadu Ali (who acted as the Director General, PDP’s Presidential Campaign Organisation), former Information Minister, Prof. Jerry Gana (who acted as the Director, Contact and Mobilisation) and ex-Finance Minister, Senator Nenadi Usman (who served as Director of Finance).

The suit marked, CV/2733/2015, was filed before   the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Maitama, Abuja.

The firm, through its counsel, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), claimed to have been engaged by the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation to “beautify and decorate” the campaign venues used by former President Goodluck Jonathan as PDP presidential candidate during his campaign for the 2015 election.

The firm accused the defendants of refusing to pay the contract sum of N360m mutually agreed on.‎

Hearing in the case has been fixed for February 11.
