Chris Brown
Singer Chris Brown is currently being investigated by Las Vegas police for allegedly punching a woman in the face.
Brown is suspected of battery, a police spokesperson said. A woman named Liziane Gutierrez said Brown jabbed her in the right eye at an after party early Saturday morning in his suite at the Palms Hotel and Casino, according to TMZ.
In a statement to Rolling Stone, Brown's representative denied the allegations. "Making false accusations seems to be a pattern of behavior for Ms. Gutierrez. Whatever her motives, her statements are unequivocally untrue," the singer's rep said.
In Gutierrez's version of the events, as told to TMZ, Brown assaulted her after she snuck her cellphone into the singer's suite and took a photo, drawing the ire of Brown, who allegedly yelled at her and punched her in the eye. Gutierrez claims she then left the party and, a few hours later, called police; she did not seek medical attention at a hospital.
However, Brown's rep paints a different version, telling Rolling Stone that Gutierrez was escorted out of Brown's private after-party for "being disruptive and out of control." While waiting for Brown's security to bring out her phone, Gutierrez allegedly had a "total meltdown," which was witnessed by both partygoers and the Palms' security cameras, resulting in the hotel's security assisting in removing her from the resort.
Brown was convicted on felony assault charges in 2009 for his notorious beating of then-girlfriend Rihanna. Brown plead guilty and accepted a plea deal of five years probation, six months of community service and a restraining order.
