Mahiye Dyayow being killed by firing squad
Somali military on Sunday, January 3, executed a soldier, Mahiye Dyayow, by firing squad after he was convicted of killing a civilian.
According to Mogadishu News, the man was strapped to wooden posts and then shot till he died.

Military court assistant, Abdullahi Husein Mohamed told journalists on the spot that 26-year-old Dyayow was convicted of killing a civilian in the town.
He said: "On July 4, 2015 the first degree court of the military sat for the punishment case against defendant Mahiye Dyayow, aged 26 and who is ex-Security Agency soldier. On 10th February 2015, he killed late Mohamed Qassim Borow. This will serve a good example to allgovernment forces, which should ensure reliable peace. This is to avoid killings and safeguard our Somali people. Any soldier who kills a person or loots property or food at the market or in refugee camps will be executed likewise."
