Oba of Lagos Serves Warning to Those Linking Him to Indiscriminate Construction of Shops

The Oba of Lagos has finally spoken out on his alleged involvement in indiscriminate construction of shops within Lagos.

The Oba of Lagos, HRM Rilwanu Akiolu has warned those linking his name to the indiscriminate construction of shops and counters on the highways and market places within the Lagos Central Business District, Ebute Ero, Apongbon loop and other strategic places to refrain from such or be made to face the full wrath of the law.

A statement issued to the media from the palace on Friday, disclosed that the monarch had observed the development for sometime now and wishes to put an end to it by alerting the general public.

It stated that Oba Akiolu believes such conduct would undoubtedly obstruct free flow of traffic and aid crime and criminality in those areas, the statement stressed that he has already alerted the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Director of State Security Service, the executive secretaries of Lagos Island Local Government, Lagos Island Local Council Development Authority, Area Commander, Area A Lion Building and all Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) covering Lagos Island.
It said they have all been requested “to ensure that people involved in the act are brought to book and assist government in ensuring free flow of traffic” in the areas.

The statement added that Oba Akiolu also intends to send out his White Cap Chiefs and others to ensure that sanity is restored on Lagos roads.

The statement quoted Oba Akiolu as saying that henceforth, anyone caught using his name to commit this criminal act will face the full wrath of the law.
