The Senate yesterday had decided to launch an inquiry into the N35.55billion alleged to have been released by the immediate past President Goodluck Jonathan.
The Senate on Wednesday, January 13, made a resolve to probe the N35.55billion alleged to have been released by former President Goodluck Jonathan for the rehabilitation and development of infrastructure in the aviation sector.

The resolution was sequel to a report of adhoc committee on aviation sector chaired by Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso (APC, Kano Central).

Presenting the report of his committee tagged“The worrisome and unstable position of Nigerian Aviation industry,” Kwankwaso suggested the probe of the funds.

In view of this, the Upper Chamber mandated its committees on Aviation and anti-corruption to carry out investigation on the disbursement and utilisation of the funds. It also resolved to look into the $40m AFRIXIM loan granted to the sector during the last administration.
