In a recent interview with TheCable, Super Eagles of Nigeria and Lazio of Italy midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi, says he got married early to resist temptations and grow with his children, adding that his settling down early, would boost his career and make him focused.
The player who has one goal in 36 international games for Nigeria, said, "Thank God for His grace. All thanks to God even if the process is not yet complete because we just went to the registry for now.
"It is something every man who wants to be responsible needs to do when the time comes. I made my choice this early because I want to grow with my kids."
Onazi revealed that the relationship had been going on for some years, and joked that it was not love at first sight. "I have been with her for four years now. I met her where she met me. It was not love at first sight; it was love at the last sight.
"She is so special and that should tell you why I got married to her. She is a woman with a good heart, loving and caring."
When he was asked why his wife is nicknamed‘Louis Vuitton', he said: "I don’t know why but I think one of her friends called her the name because she used a lot of Vuitton product. She loves LV products. That’s her brand. Maybe that is why she is called that."
On the full marriage rights, he said: "The huge one will come but not too huge. Just something normal. No need to exaggerate. Registry oh! That was all we did for now. Well, we are planing for the wedding proper then we know what next. One thing at a time.
"Yes definitely. Boys are becoming men. My date for the big wedding is not made known yet but soon we will pick a date and everyone will be aware of it. This is the most important reason why I wanted to get married on time, because when you remember you have a family, it will help you to be serious.
"We know no one on earth is above temptation. But to some extent, we have to try as much as possible to resist as well, with responsibility we have as a family man. And I always pray to God to help me because to be sincere, it is not easy. Seriously; not easy."
The midfielder also spoke about his love for music and charity, saying: "I play music. I learn it right from when I was young, just like like football. Music is like playing football to me. Charity work I learnt from my daddy, TB Joshua; that is part of his teachings. I learn a lot from him and I can never write three words about my life without him."
