British Soldier Complain of Food They Are Being Served At Military Bases (Photos)

The hungry, British soldiers have exposed the food they are served at military bases up and down the UK - including raw chicken, maggot-riddled tomatoes and mouldy eggs.
Service men and women have been disgusted by dinners served up by civilian contractors for the Ministry of Defence.
One soldier posted an open letter to the Army hierarchy on social media, complaining about food served by private firm Sodexo alongside photos of the kinds of foods they are served.
One picture shows what appears to be a maggot lying in a pool of tomatoes.
Another shows a chicken drumstick that is bloody and raw in the middle – a major health risk.

The soldier wrote: “Would you feed a homeless person undercooked or raw chicken? Would you serve it to a paying customer in a restaurant? Would you feed it to your kids for their dinner?

“I would like to think the answer to these questions is no, of course not. So why is the answer yes to serving soldiers paying for these meals?

“I have taken the time to put a few photos together so you can see what the blokes are being served.

“We all know these complaints fall on deaf ears. I have already posted these questions, along with images, to Sodexo for response.

"Unfortunately, these posts have been deleted and I have now been blocked by Sodexo UK.

“I’m sure you’re as troubled as I am to see mouldy eggs, undercooked chicken and maggots in tomatoes served to our service personnel.”

Sodexo, one of the world’s biggest catering firms, supply more than 80 Army, Navy and RAF sites in the UK, Cyprus and the Falkland Islands.
The disgusting food pictures have caused outrage online, reports the Daily Record.
Steve Tagg wrote: “I always thought an army marched on its stomach. Our boys and girls of the Armed Forces should be fed the best food, well-cooked.

“Pay as you go is not good enough for our troops. Some will miss food if short on money. Under the old system, everyone would eat three square meals a day.”
Some people called for Army chefs to be brought in to provide food.
Richie Mc wrote: “I once got served chicken that bled when I cut into it. Took it back, to be told by the Sodexo chef that ‘a little bit of blood won’t kill you mate’. ”
Jonny Bryson wrote: “When we had our own chefs, the food was grand. Surely it’s cheaper to pay Royal Logistic Corps chefs who are already getting paid by the Army, than it is to outsource to a civvy firm?”
Investigation into the claims of the soldiers is now ongoing.
