Conte last week confirmed that he will not be extending his tenure as coach of Italy beyond this summer's European Championship, thus paving the way for him to take over at Stamford Bridge next season.
His appointment has yet to be confirmed by Chelsea despite holding talks with the club last month, with Guus Hiddink currently in charge on an interim basis following Jose Mourinho's departure in December.
"It's not official yet, but this would also be a reward for our decision to appoint him and we are very proud of it," Marotta told Mediaset television.
