Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has urged the FA to move swiftly to cap Alex Iwobi for England.
The young Nigeria international remains eligible for the Three Lions despite appearing for Nigeria senior team.
The Mirror says Wenger has supported the FA's views on Iwobi by giving the youngster a commendatory reference.
He is understood to have told the FA the player has a huge future at the North Londoners and, having let him get away once, they should do everything possible to try to get him back to play for England.
