Barcelona rightback Daniel Alves has hit out at angry Barcelona fans after a video he posted to Instagram after their Champions League dumping by Atletico Madrid.
Alves posted a clip where he imitated his girlfriend consoling him after Barcelona's Champions League elimination.
The video was not liked by fans nor president Josep Maria Bartomeu, who didn't rule out punishing him.
Alves responded with a statement:
“IF YOUR ENJOYMENT IS MY TEARS YOU WILL LIVE YOUR LIVES TIRED!
"My strength is your weakness, my happiness your frustration, my compassion is your sorrow, my life is your death. If you can't love me, ignore me, your will do more damage to yourself. I am stronger than I seem. Don't let them manipulate your lives, don't let them use you to create hate, discordance, rejection, depress you or judge anything.
"To be free is one of the most incredible things in this life, don't let yourselves be puppets, you are not that mediocre. Or are you? (The truth is, I have my doubts) Be happy, don't be mediocre! Enjoy life, enjoy it, there won't be another opportunity to do it. I love Barca, I love my team-mates."
