FECAFOOT Pay Tribute To Dead Cameroon Footballer

Cameroon football federation (FECAFOOT) have paid tribute to deceased international, Patrick Ekeng, who slumped and later died during a Romanian league match involving his club Dinamo Bucharest.

Ekeng, 26, is believed to have suffered a heart attack in Friday’s league match just seven minutes after he was introduced.

The police are to investigate the tragic incident following reports of negligence.

Tributes have continued to pour in for the fallen midfielder.

The Cameroonian football federation (FECAFOOT) condoled the family of the late player, while saying in an official statement that they await the official report on his death.

“Dinamo tonight lost footballer Claude Patrick Ekeng forever. On behalf of all of Dinamo, sincere condolences to the bereaved family. God rest his soul,” a statement on Dinamo’s Facebook page read.

“There are no words to express our sorrow at the death of Patrick Ekeng. We mourn your loss. We will never forget you,” said the player’s former Spanish club Cordoba.

Cameroon also lost Marc-Vivien Foe in similar circumstances in June 2003.
