President Muhammadu Buhari and former president Olusegun Obasanjo
President Muhammadu Buhari has been dared to probe the administration of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo if his anti-corruption fight is sincere. This is coming from a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Benue State, Senator Joseph Waku.
While commending the president for the job done so far, Waku said the anti-corruption war will be incomplete if Buhari refuses to probe Obasanjo's administration.
He said, “All these corruption and privatisation sagas we are talking about today started from Obasanjo’s administration. I insist that Obasanjo administration be probed. Buhari should revoke all the FG assets that were privatised under President Obasanjo.
“On the whole, I think this government is trying to sanitise the system for the younger generation and it is doing it gradually but well.
“It is better for this country to make a law that ranching be legalise. I support Benue government on this and nothing more. Grazing route or reserve is no longer fashionable because the land has been overwhelmed with population.
"Again, the kind of weapons being carry about by herdsmen are highly sophisticated and not trusted. I think Government should come out and issue a statement that any herdsmen caught with weapons be arrested and prosecuted. If you go to Brazil and Argentina you will not see cows roaming about and their cows are better.”
