The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have stepped up efforts to build a three-star, 60-room hotel in Package B of the Abuja National Stadium complex many years after the idea was first mooted.
On Wednesday, NFF vice-president Seyi Akinwunmi led several officials to a proposed site for the project.
The proposed hotel will ease the huge expenditure incurred by the NFF in keeping the various national teams at various hotels in Abuja.
“We spent many millions any time any of the national teams are in training camp in Abuja,” lamented a top official.
The Ghana Football Association (GFA), for instance, have built a top hotel at their FIFA Goal Project in Prampram, Accra, from the cash they earned for featuring at the last two World Cups.
