Ahmed Musa Makes Impressive Debut In Leicester Win

Leicester City’s summer signing, Ahmed Musa, made an impressive debut for the Foxes on Tuesday as they defeated League 2 side Oxford United 2-1 at the at the Kassam Stadium.

The Nigeria winger who cost the Claudio Ranieri’s side £16.5m was one of the six substitutes introduced on the hour mark and it took only seven minutes for the former CSKA Moscow forward to force a save from the Oxford goalkeeper in the 67th minute.

The Super Eagles star unleashed a fearsome strike from 25 yards that the keeper did well to parry to safety.

Oxford took the lead in the 14th minute but Demarai Gray’s low drive off the inside of the post restored parity for the reigning English Premier League champions.

Ghana winger Jeffrey Schlupp sealed the win in the 89th minute for Leicester.

Meanwhile, Leicester City’s commentator on the night Gerry Tarrgart was pleased with Musa’s contribution in the encounter and believes the winger will blossom with the Foxes.

“Ahmed Musa has shown some real pace already. What’s really impressive is his speed from a standing start. He’s up to full throttle in no time,” Tarrgart said during his commentary.

Leicester face National League side Nuneaton Town in their next game in pre-season on Saturday.
