Jack Wilshere heads for Bournemouth Medical

The England midfielder had been made available for loan after suffering heavily with injury over the past season at the Emirates Stadium.

Granit Xhaka's arrival at the club additionally looked set to limit Wilshere's first-team opportunities, leading him to request a temporary move away.

Serie A clubs Roma and AC Milan had both been linked with the player, who made just three appearances in 2015-16, but, after talks with the Giallorossi broke down, Wilshere is now set to stay in the Premier League with Eddie Howe's Cherries.

His friendship with Bournemouth's Benik Afobe was key to advancing negotiations, as the England star looks forward to pairing up again with a player who featured alongside him in the Arsenal academy.
