BREAKING NEWS: INEC Postponed Edo State Election by 2 weeks

Edo

Seems the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has caved in to external pressure and postponed Edo State governorship election by two weeks.

Sources at the Commission told Ripples Nigeria that the new move is coming due to pressure from some quarters.
It was also gathered that the security agensies namely the police and DSS told the INEC leadership that they could not guarantee security of electoral staff and and materials going by their earlier warning.
The commission is expected to make a formal announcement soon.
This is coming after INEC earlier on Thursday reiterated its resolve to go ahead with the election despite calls by the Nigerian Police Force and the Department of State Service (DSS), to postpone the election.

Details soon…
