The boxer, who holds both the WBA and WBO titles, failed a urine test on September 22 - the day before he pulled out of a title rematch with Wladimir Klitschko, citing mental health issues.
The test was carried out by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA).
However, the fighter may not be banned or lose his world titles as a result of failing the drugs test.
According to The Guardian, under World Anti-Doping Agency rules cocaine is not prohibited when it is taken out of competition.
Fury also has a UK Anti-Doping investigation hanging over him after a sample tested positive for the anabolic steroid nandrolone last year.
Neither Fury nor the British Boxing Board of Control have yet made any comment on the matter.
