BREAKING News: Justice Ademola Resigns as Federal High Court Judge

 
Justice Adeniyi Ademola has tendered his letter of voluntary retirement from the bench of the Federal High Court.
 
According to Vanguard, a source said that the Judge tendered his resignation letter to the National Judicial Council late in the evening on Wednesday after he had presided over several cases, four of which were criminal matters. He had earlier fixed today (Thursday) to deliver judgment on a terrorism charge the Federal Government entered against alleged Boko Haram members.
 
He would have statutory retired in March 2018, but opted to tender his letter of resignation yesterday, December 6, 2017 on Thursday.
 
His resignation was contained in a one-paragraph letter received at the Office of the Acting Chief Judge of the Federal High Court in Abuja, on December 7 (Thursday), the letter stated that his retirement took effect from December 6 (Wednesday).
 
The letter did not disclose the reason for the judge’s decision. 
 
Justice Adeniyi Ademola was among eight superior court judges that were arrested after a“sting operation” the Department of State Service, DSS, conducted in October last year.
