25-year-old Liverpool star, Mohammed Salah who has been on the radars of both Real Madrid and Barcelona going into the summer transfer window, and has hit a stunning 43 goals from 47 appearances to drive the Reds towards touching distance of a first Champions League triumph since 2005, might leave Anfield at end of the season.
Real Madrid reportedly want the Liverpool star as a replacement for Gareth Bale, who is primed to be shown the door, while Barcelona’s interest, meanwhile, stems from Ousmane Dembele’s failure to hit the heights.
And Spanish outlet, Diario Gol claim to know where Salah would prefer to play, as their report claims the Egypt international feels more inclined to join Real Madrid.
Los Blancos are expected to overhaul their squad regardless of whether they win a third consecutive Champions League crown. Bale is expected to be the biggest casualty, while Karim Benzema’s future is also far from clear.
Diario Gol reports that Salah would leave Liverpool for Real because of one big reason. And that is because he is reportedly more inclined to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo than Lionel Messi.
However, speaking yesterday, Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp hinted Liverpool were about to offer Salah a new contract in order to stop him from jumping ship.
The German said; "This is one very important step but even Roberto Firmino cannot play alone. We need to carry on in this way. In the moment every player knows about our plans. He's the first [to commit] but for sure he won't be the last."
